It’s always a treat to visit one of our favorite countries, Italia, which really is our “seconda casa,” as we love to say. As always, the food, hospitality and warmth of this country is truly nothing less than spectacular. And Italy has had a beautiful love affair with Ronn for decades. It has been six years since we visited the region of Puglia. The last time we were there, we renewed our wedding vows because it was so romantic, so being back there was like another honeymoon for us. We spent time relaxing by Fasano beach at the Canne Bianche hotel and spa for a few days and even though the weather was a bit rainy, we couldn’t have been happier.

I have enjoyed their wonderful spa and had a four hand massage, which was incredible! Nothing like two massage therapists giving you a massage at the same time! The “Pepper Aroma Peeling” scrub left my body silky soft and the staff was fantastic.  Ronn did a great appearance for their annual car racing event and from there we headed over to stay a couple days at the beautiful “Masseria Torre Cocarro.”  We both experienced an olive oil massage and a grotto like pool.  Unfortunately, we didn’t make it to the “Borgo Egnazia” where we renewed our vows in 2012 on this visit, but hope to return to Puglia again soon.

We then headed to see friends like Gina Lollobrigida in Rome and celebrated my big 55th birthday with Lavinia Biagiotti. As always, the food at the Marco Simone Golf Restaurant is incredible and the hospitality we experience at the Biagiotti castle is like home for us.   We then made our way to Florence to catch up with American friends, Wayne and Rhonda Nelson. Wayne is the lead singer in the American version of “Little River Band.” We had an amazing dinner at one of the oldest restaurants, “Il Paiolo” in the center of Florence and also caught up with Ronn’s ‘Ballando Con Le Stelle” dance partner, Sara DiViara and her family. It was great to see them and experience a Florentine steak at the “Trattoria  Dall Oste” which is a must when visiting Florence.

We then continued on to the countryside of Tuscany to visit the “Tenuta Chiudendone” vineyard and see our dear friends Isabella and Francesco who just had a new baby boy. Prince was a bit jealous of me holding the baby and we had fun doing a cooking class after picking vegetables from their garden. Its always a wonderful peaceful experience at the “Tenuta Chiudendone.”

We are also excited about some new opportunities we are planning to produce for next year just for Italy! In the meantime, we are truly in gratitude for this scrumptious treat we are experiencing so far. Our last weekend journey continued in Amsterdam for a few days of meetings for Ronn’s upcoming European tour, which will start in Belgium and the Netherlands this fall.  Ronn has a new song and music video dedicated to our love for Italy coming soon, along with new Ronn Moss merchandise for his tour, which will include his own signature fragrance line, scarves, T-shirts and a new CD! A cover story on Ronn for Primo magazine in Belgium talks about all the exciting upcoming plans!

Mere words cannot describe our experiences here in Belgium over the past couple of months. We have made lifelong friends and created new and challenging experiences that will last a lifetime! When Ronn agreed to do the variety show, “The Bolle en de Beautiful” he did not know exactly what to expect, since he had never done a live variety show that included comedy and music? Now that it’s almost over with almost 20 live shows under his belt, the experience has been overwhelmingly positive and beautiful to say the least. A filled house of men and women, young and old loving every minute of this amazing cast of talented performers has been a memory we will never ever forget. And we have totally fallen in love with the tiny country of Belgium!

Belgium has beautiful polite people who mostly speak English, as well as, French and German. They are very proud of their wide variety of beers, chocolate and great food and it was Belgium that was the creator of “French Fries” not the  French as most believe because they are call “French Fries.” There is great history in Belgium for being surrounded by much larger countries such as, France, Germany, Holland and England. These bigger countries have all tried to invade this tiny little country and have not prevailed for a reason, because Belgium people are very strong, kind and brave.  As small as they are, they have endured two world wars and have learned to keep their tiny little country theirs, so that says alot about them in my opinion.

The cast of the “The Bolle en de Beautiful” were a small cast of tremendous talent and Ronn has been proud to be a part of such a show. He is now excited to embark on the original theatrical play, “Brasschaatse Huisvrouwen” in a couple of weeks and as usual, has pushed himself to combined endless play rehearsals in conjunction with his performances on “The Bolle en de Beautiful,” which has gotten rave 5 start reviews and has filled the house for every performance! The Belgian people have shown their love and admiration for Ronn and he is most grateful for this opportunity to try new and different creative things at this point in his life. I too am very proud of my husband for taking chances and stretching himself as an artist. He has proven he can do anything he sets his mind to and do it well.

Although we have been busy with Ronn’s play rehearsals and performances, we have taken the time to get some exercise and ride our bikes to the beautiful Brugge, which is called the “Venice of the North.” We are looking forward to our move next week to Antwerp where the play, ‘Brasschaatse Huisvrouwen” will be seen starting on the 8th of September. We are also looking forward to visiting the beautiful city of Gent and going to the horse races next week. The weather has been very pleasant for us because we don’t usually get to see much rain in southern California, so the occasional rain showers or thunder storms has not bothered us in the least. We are looking forward to seeing the colorful fall leaves before we leave in late October.

In the meantime, I have a weekly column in Primo magazine called, “Ronn and Me” for you guys to keep up on past experiences we have had in cities like, De Haan and Brugge since we have been here the past couple of months. We are only half way through our 4 month experience of Belgium and look forward to sharing much much more with you guys. Mr. Prince has been enjoying himself as well with lots of yummy treats from so many wonderful fans, as well as, his various toys he is now collecting. Ronn and I have been so touched by numerous fans bringing us a variety of chocolates, cookies, clothing, cologne and cards telling us how much we mean to them. Well we just want to let you know how much that has touched our hearts and how blessed we feel to have shared this amazing time with all of you!

Please follow us on Instagram for more photos @ronnmoss @devindevasquez @mrprince1999 and be sure to drop us a line on our websites www.devindevasquez.com www.ronnmoss.com and let us know your thoughts. We love hearing from you guys!

The past two weeks provided Ronn and I with an appreciated break from the undying heat in southern California. We enjoyed experiencing a real fall that enabled us to wear a jacket instead of wanting to peel off every stitch of clothing for a change. It was lovely to see all the leaves turning shades of red, orange and yellow throughout the beautiful countryside of Belgium. And Ronn’s performance with DeRomeos was a big hit with fans. We were treated to some amazing cuisine, fine beer and of course Belgian chocolate!

Ronn Performing in Belgium

After the concert, we met up with our loyal DevRonn Fanclub members and finally put faces to the names of some wonderful fans we invited to join us backstage. We had so much fun thanks to our new fanclub president, Angelique DeVries! Business meetings on future projects followed, and then we headed to Amsterdam to visit some friends and got “Lost In Amsterdam” with Anthony Geary who now lives there. Since he has retired the role of Luke Spencer from General Hospital, it was time to have some fun! Tony showed us around the university and opera house of Amsterdam as we made our way to Rembrandt’s Square.

Amsterdam

He then took us to the coolest place called, “Lost In Amsterdam” where we could take our shoes off and have a drink or smoke a bud, while watching people walk or ride their bikes along the pristine cobbled stone streets. It was easy to spend hours losing track of time in this place. I had done a great deal of walking around the city with Ronn while he took photos of the beautiful canals and bridges. It was easy to see why so many artists have been greatly inspired by this unique city. The architecture alone is amazing! Even though I had been to Amsterdam twice before this trip, I had not really seen its beauty and left with a new appreciation for all it has to offer after this adventure.

_Z0A0512

It was the first time Ronn had the ability to enjoy exploring a place he had been to before, but never really got to see due to his hectic schedule on B&B. I found the food, culture and people to be excellent. Although we were only there for a few days, its apparent that it’s one of the happiest places on earth. Tony said, “The Dutch doesn’t care what you do, as long as you are polite about it.” Maybe that’s why so many people are attracted to Amsterdam? We took many of you with us thanks to Periscope and the feedback that I heard was very cool. Thanks to technology, we were able to share a bit of our experience with you guys and also met up with more fanclub members! We even made a few new friends along the way and took home memories that will last a lifetime!

I think we will return again and again to get “Lost In Amsterdam,” as we get inspired by its timeless beauty and unique vibe.

Our trip down under has been nothing short of an exciting adventure. Player has been on fire at every concert so far and the fans are showing the love for Ronn and the band after every show. Player and Ronn Moss T-shirts and CDs are selling like crazy and there have been some female fans that have displayed their affection for Ronn with a tattoo of his face on their thigh! And this fan was only 26 years old, which has been surprising. Seems we have been seeing younger fans gracing the shows that have been watching Ronn on B&B most of their lives! We even had a female fan who came all the way from Malaysia for the Melbourne show and told us that Player has many fans there as well.

Our tour manager Stu has been taking really great care of us backstage as you can see on the Livestream I surprised you guys with last week. We have been treated to great food and company by our promoter Enza and Roy Ortuso and each and every Aussie we have met has been so warm and friendly. Ronn’s cousin Joan and her husband David made it to the Melbourne show and it was terrific to see her. I have a few friends of my own that will catch a show while we are here that I haven’t seen in a while also. Ronn’s very own BBQ Sauce is now available for orders on our DevRonn website and it comes in a mild and medium spicy gluten free flavor that you will just love!!

We had a blast at the Melbourne Cup and now everyone is talking about Ronn’s man bun as they like to call it when he was a guest on Rove’s show, “The Project” yesterday. Magazines “TV Weekly” and “New Idea” have talked about Ronn’s visit and Player appeared on the popular “Morning Show” with their live acoustic version of “Baby Come Back.” It seems the press can’t get enough of them and it has been a bit hectic this past week with the concerts and all the press, so these past couple of days has been nice and relaxing for all of us and much needed.

It’s so nice to really see the beautiful country of OZ up close and personal. We even got to see some Kangaroos in the wild on our drive into Canberra. Next week we will all visit the zoo together and get to see more. Since we have been here it’s been expressed countless times that the fans are not taking to the Nu-Ridge very well and Ronn is and always will be their one and only Ridgerido and that’s never going to change for them. We love the land of OZ and we are looking forward to the rest of the tour and want to visit more often!

Where has the time gone? This year is just flying by and it’s already summer! As usual our summers are busy with entertaining friends, attending parties, charity events and kids. But it looks like we will be working this summer as well. As you know we finished an ABC prime time show that we can’t discuss right now but it will air this summer most likely in July. I will of course keep you posted on the dates and more details once I’m given the word. But I know you will absolutely love it!

DevRonn

Ronn and I both were so busy this past week we had no time to hardly tweet and we worked Memorial day. So the past couple days have been spent trying to catch up on business as usual and sleep. I’m currently working on a charity fundraiser for Autism that will be held at our home in June and Ronn will start rehearsals for Player’s upcoming Australian/New Zealand tour later this year. I know you have been asking when tickets will go on sale and they will soon! Seems more dates keep getting added and the promoter want to release the entire schedule before you can purchase tickets.

Player is also joining The Yacht Rock Revue boys in Atlanta on July 19th for their festival and then we will take off to Naples, Italy where Ronn will play a Baron in a mini series that takes place in World War 1. I think you guys know how much Ronn loves his scarves so perhaps he will get to wear some in this mini series, since it’s a period piece.

Ronn & Peter Beckett

I will continue to do more speaking engagements and work on the follow up book to “True Age, Timeless Beauty.” And we have an exciting contest to announce later this summer in connection with “The Bay” series. Ronn will also continue playing John Blackwell in “The Bay” and we are now on board as producers of that series.  I’m hoping to extend our time in Italy to include a much needed vacation if possible. Seems Ronn is getting bombarded with so many projects it’s getting hard to fit in a vacation. I will of course blog and keep you posted on all of it as it’s happening!

It was only Ronn’s second cruise, my third and the Norwegian Freestyle cruise was terrific with mostly smooth sailing and smooth rock n roll the whole way. We did get some choppy waves the first day and it put a damper, pardon the pun, on our beach concert, which was moved back to the boat. That was a bummer because we all were looking forward to partying all day with Player, Robbie Dupree and the Yacht Rock Revue boys on the Stirrup Cay Island.

DSC00066

DSC00031

Player Angels, Eden, Sue, Robin, Joanie, Michelle and Playmate Jacqueline Sheen were there with their captain’s hats to rock it out and the cruise was filled with fans from all over the world including, Barbados and Croatia. It was funny to see people recognizing Ronn constantly and unsure if it was indeed him. Fans told us constantly how much they missed him and how they have stopped watching the show now. We heard this even from our flight attendant on the way back home.

DSCN0059

The Yacht Rock Revue boys threw a cool party to celebrate Ronn’s birthday at the Asian restaurant where the chef’s put on quite a show tossing their knives around on Saturday, and then we all headed over to  the Bliss Lounge, where everyone had on headphones and was rocking out to different music, but all you saw were people dancing in silence. We thought the cake was funny cuz it said, “Happy Birthday Ridge” on it.

DSC00037_4

IMG_0745

Player and the Player Angels announced the winner of the Player contest and a big congrats went out to Liz Ryan from Texas who won a beautiful baby blue electric guitar signed by Peter and Ronn, along with a Player necklace, T-shirt, CD and photo. We spent our days drinking Bahama Mamas and rockin out to American Idol winner, Kris Allen, Shadow Box and our boys until the wee hours of the morning everyday.

DSC00042_2

By the time we reached the Bahamas all Ronn wanted to do was sleep late, so we never got off the boat because he didn’t want to do anything except relax. I did manage to have a mini afternoon at the spa and got in a massage and facial and it was so nice to hang with our friends from Indiana, Doug and Kathleen Gilmore. We enjoyed Cagney’s Steakhouse with great bottles of wine together there.

DSC00016

All in all the cruise experience was perfect because it wasn’t too long and the food was great overall. Kid Rock was the next one up on that cruise ship and Sixthman who puts on these rock cruises are interested in having Player join in on some future European cruising. So it’s safe to say this won’t be our last cruise and much more fun to come for all.

DSC00008

It’s hard to believe that Ronn is a native Californian and there are many gorgeous places he has yet to visit. We wanted to find a free weekend to visit Creason who is away at college and both of us have never been to Santa Cruz. Creason has been telling us how gorgeous it is for months now, and Ronn loves a colder climate, so we thought this would be the perfect time of the year to make our journey to Santa Cruz.

Joe & Marsha copy

It’s a journey being in a car for five hours with even with the best of mates, this can sometimes be challenging. How many of you can relate to what I’m trying to say here? You’re giving out directions to a place you both have never been and he passes up an exit and thinks you don’t know what the hell you are talking about? Get my drift?  So since I’ve been with my amazingly adorable husband for nearly a decade, I can safely attest being with him in a car for five hours under these circumstances is not always fun for me and I sometime want to scream from frustration!

devronn vineyard copy

So we decided to break our trip up and make it fun. As you know by now, we love red wines and wine tasting in Paso Robles sounded great since we would of course be passing through on our journey to Santa Cruz. Plus it broke the trip in half, so I found the cutest bed and breakfast that overlooks a small, but picturesque vineyard called, “Honey Oak House at Laraneta Vineyards in Templeton, just outside of Paso Robles.

vineyard copy

The owners are Joe and Melinda who started their winery and flavored olive oil on their 20 acre vineyard.  You feel like you are staying over at your best friend’s house for the night. We had a lovely wine tasting of their superb wines and shared a bottle of Cabernet with Bob and Marsha who were traveling from San Francisco. Turns out Bob was from Louisiana with family from guess where? Finland!

joe & Melinda copy

So after a few laughs about some of our coincidental stories and a  bottle of wine watching the sunset, we were ready to settle in for the evening. Tomorrow we will be in Santa Cruz with only a couple more hours in the car, hopefully with no directional issues. I told Ronn maybe I should drive and he could navigate, but he didn’t seem to like that idea very much, hmm I wonder why?

This has truly been the most magical birthday ever for me and I’ve been celebrating it the entire month of June. Kicking it off with the success of the Canyon Club’s Player performance and extending it to our seconda casa in Roma, Firenze and Venezia with some of our most cherished friends. 50 was always a number I was afraid of in the past because my mom died of breast cancer at that age. I had times when I thought I wouldn’t make it in life to see that number and now I’m so happy and vibrant with my life that it’s indeed just a number to me. I think I will truly love my 50s and will never forget all the love and celebration surrounding this birthday.

IMG_1012IMG_1010

The profound synchronicity of events, people and places that we have experienced during this trip is too much to put in mere words. I feel like the universe has bestowed an array of beautiful gifts, new friendships and love that I just can’t explain. Only to say it’s been pure magic. The fact that we had a huge full moon to boot with me being the ultimate Cancer moon child was no coincidence. It was meant to be a sign that my thoughts, passion and love of life will continue to flourish and I plan to give even more of myself to this world with great eagerness and compassion.

IMG_1044

It’s always been my desire to make my life have meaning beyond mere success of just what I’ve chosen to do in this lifetime. I want to leave something behind that is much bigger than me and nothing is more important to me than giving back to those in need. I so admire women like Audrey Hepburn who did that in spades during her lifetime. So I believe this birthday of my turning a half of a century will mark what my new clear path is from now on and that is to continue to inspire and enlighten others through example. This is a true blessing to have my life take this new path now.

IMG_1029

Because of this new path I have developed a new website for women that is about other dynamic women of this world that are making a difference and it’s called woman to woman. I’m happy to launch it with two amazing women that have already made such great marks on society in this world, supermodel, Kelly Emberg and Hollywood icon, Mamie Van Doren. So please take a look at www.womantowoman.tv and leave a comment on what you think.

Here are a few photos from our trip to gorgeous Venezia and our stop in Firenze for the Laura Biagiotti Doll Collection presentation, which was absolutely amazing! Always the perfect ending to our stay in Roma is when we spend time with our beloved Lavinia and Laura Biagiotti, whom we think of as family. Thank you as always for your wonderful hospitality and for the birthday blessings you have given to me on this milestone. A new Ronn’s Garage is coming with more details from our trip!

I know you’ve heard us say that Italy is our second home and it is looking more and more that way. The Italians have had a love affair with Ronn for decades now and he seems to visit that country more than any other. It’s hard to say no to any invitation because there are so many beautiful places to visit in Italy. This upcoming invitation is one that I am extremely excited about because it falls around my big 50th birthday in June and it’s a place I’ve never been in Sicily.

Ronn has been invited to attend the prestigious 59th Taormina Film Festival held in the beautiful scenario of the ancient Greek-Roman monument “Teatro Antico”, facing the Etna volcano, in the heart of the Mediterranean area. Past actors such as,  Robert De Niro, Oliver Stone, Sophia Loren, Colin Firth have had the honor of being asked to do a presentation at this beautiful theater that is embedded in a rock and only holds about 19,000 people. Here is a link to the festival for more information Taormina Film Festival 2013

I take this is as another gift from the universe that we are on the right path in our exciting new career ventures and the fact that this invitation falls near my big birthday makes me so happy to again visit another beautiful place in Italy. So here are some pics of the beautiful outdoor theater and the coast of Sicily. I’m imagining my morning cappuccinos now.

There really is nothing like the fresh mountain air to cleanse your mind, body and soul.  We fell in love with Lake Arrowhead a year ago when we came here for a wedding. Since then, it’s become our favorite place to get away, largely due to the four seasons and the fact that it’s only a couple of hours from Los Angeles.

It’s such good fun to hang out with friends in, “The Village” have great wine, a nice fire going and good food of course. Turns out a few of Ronn’s B&B cast mates love Arrowhead also, so we are never at a loss for visiting friends.

Wanda, Ronn & Dawn

We also get in creative mode with writing and editing Ronn’s Garage. I think that’s just something that comes with being nestled in the trees and being surrounded by the majestic mountains. This past weekend gave us a variety of colorful trees as the leaves started turning shades of gold, red and orange.

This was also a creative meeting of the minds concerning an exciting movie project that Ronn is now in the throws of. The next couple weeks will be filled with director meetings, contracts, music, photo shoots, publicity and script revisions that need to be done before we can unveil the movie’s website, which should be by Christmas.

Since this will be Ronn’s first starring role since his exit from B&B, we are all very anxious and excited to share it all with you as soon as possible. However, we must get all these preliminary things done before the unveiling. I think you will be just as excited as we are about this one and there’s a sequel in the works, so we think this will be a perfect role for Ronn. We will be sharing behind the scenes of the making of this movie with you on it’s website and there will be music from Player in there also.

I believe coincidences is God’s way of saying you are on the right path and this weekend gave us a few of them. Turns out the writer of this film that Ronn is doing, also wrote, “Easy Rider, The Ride Back” which stars Michael Nouri and LauraLee Bell. This is a film that hasn’t been released yet that we got a sneak peek of. The coincidence is Michael Nouri’s wife, Vicki Light was my very first agent and she started my career in acting. She got me my all important SAG card, which most of you know now was in a movie scene with Ronn before we were introduced back in 1986. Vicki contacted MS and was very ill, but I am reconnecting with her through a friend that visited us. So I’m thrilled to see her after so many years! Lauralee Bell is Brad Bell’s sister and plays Cricket on Y&R, so it was a surprise to see her in this “Easy Rider” sequel with the writer who is now writing Ronn’s first upcoming starring movie role. Coincidence? I think not.

Dev & Lori at the Tuscan villa

The past few days spent with our Italian friends who are very much family to us felt so surreal.  Our last days in the gorgeous countryside of Tuscany was set in a quaint “Eco-chic” Boutique farm , TENUTA CHIUDENDONE . Our host was Francesco Cavallini, owner of Emilio Cavallini who has been the premier fashion tights company to many designers all over the world since 1972. We got to tour the factory where they make them and was given so many designs to take home. Lori was in sheer pantyhose heaven and Francesco’s father is a true artist in the unique world of fashion tights.

We were treated to the finest  Tuscan wines at a wonderful wine tasting compliments of, Varramista Winery  and then the highlight of our trip there was a visit to the local supermarket with Ronn. I wanted Francesco and his girlfriend Isabella to show me how to cook a whole fish Tuscan style, so we stopped at the market and even the butcher wanted a picture with Ronn! Lori and I laughed so hard at the reaction from everyone,  including grandmothers and children who seemed to be drawn to Ronn for photos. I will show you guys what I learned about cooking a whole Sea Bass later on Ronn’s Garage. We traveled Saturday by train back to Rome for our final two days in Italy so that we could spend some quality time with the lovely Laura Biagiotti and my Italian sister Lavinia. They always make us feel so at home at the Biagiotti Castle. We topped off our evening with champagne at the Biagiotti boutique. Katherine Kelly Lang joined us and then went back to the castle for an amazing home cooked dinner with Laura. It was such a pleasure to introduce KKL to Laura and turns out, it was a special holiday for Italy was honoring St. Raffelle. The moon was so bright and full that we all felt the aura of excitement and anticipation deep into the night as a flutter of rain drops softly kissed us. Soon a pouring rain storm washed away the smoldering heat and humidity of the summer, and a change of season seemed to happen before our eyes with the breeziness of fall that is so welcomed now.  I started to feel a bit of a cold coming on so I decided to rest in between lunch and dinner on Sunday. Ronn and Lavinia went for a walk and to my surprise, Ronn came back with a perfectly small heart shaped rock he found on the Biagiotti property from their afternoon stroll. I was so amazed and surprised to get this from him and took it as an omen to all the wonderful things that are happening in our lives now.

My Heart shaped Rocks

It’s my gratitude rock, a symbol of our rock solid love that has conquered so much in the past few months. As some you may remember, Ronn found a large heart shaped rock walking on the beach in Malibu a few years ago, so now I have that one next to me in our bedroom and this little one with me at all times. I showed Laura the rock and she said with great flair, “Now, let’s go find a Picasso at the flea market!” Because I admire so much Laura’s wisdom, knowledge and sixth sense, I knew our trip to the flea market was something special she wanted to share with us. And there I found the cutest outfit in the latest fashionable color of deep green for this fall that I will can’t wait to wear with pride. Lavinia wanted to take us to the wedding of chef Filippo La Mantia and his bride, Stefania, which was hailed the most elite party in Rome, and such a glamourous end to our  awesome trip. Lori and I got dressed up for the party and made quite an entrance with Ronn, who epitomized Rock Star.

Lavinia, Eleonora & Ronn
Dev, Eleonora, Ronn & Lori

There we met some of the most prestigious people in Rome, including ballerina, Eleonora Abbagnato.  Lavinia grew up watching Eleonora dance and to meet her was an honor, especially since I’ve never seen a ballet. So she invited me to see her dance in Paris! Being at this party was like seeing a fashion show of the most beautiful people, each designer dress prettier than the next and the most delicious food. It was hard to move because everyone was coming to meet Ronn for photos, but Lori and I watched the whole scene in awe of every minute. Lavinia was so proud to introduce Ronn to everyone there and thus put a thrilling end to another memorable trip in our second home. This change of season is looking very promising and bright, so I’m sure another trip to Italy will be happening very soon!

Lori, Dev, Ronn, Lavinia

We spent a lovely afternoon with Lavinia Biagiotti and Katherine Kelly Lang, who gave me the most beautiful kaftan, literally off her back!

KKL’s Kaftans

Love those girls so much and am grateful to have such friends. Lori was in awe of all the shopping available in the center of Rome, so the whole day was great, although quite hot. Last night we arrived by train from Rome to Florence, which was cooler and rainy and then drove by car to stay with our friends Isabella and Francesco at his bed and breakfast farm. We are in our own spacious apartment surrounded by what seems to be vivid green vineyards. So peaceful and relaxing, it’s just what Ronn needs right now.

Lori & her white truffle pasta

We had dinner at the “Rosso Antico Osteria Moderna” restaurant, which was our best meal so far. I was so impressed with the white truffle sauce that I had to see the kitchen and get the recipe from the chef Claudio Buglioni. Apparently, the rare white truffle is only found in this area and they must be found by special trained dogs because they are deep in the ground. The rare white truffle is very expensive and only in season between September and November. If you haven’t tasted white truffle, it’s delicious and has a distinct taste and smell. This region supplies all the white truffles to exclusive areas of the world from this tiny area and the competition to find white truffle can be fierce because it can make the person who finds it very wealthy.

Claudio & Dev

I find Tuscan food to be some of the very best food in the world and have always adored this part of Italy because of it. Last time Ronn and I were here, we brought the kids and stayed with Ronn’s dance partner on “Ballando Con Le Stelle” Sara DiViara, so we hope to see her today. In the meantime, the quest to find a giant white truffle may be on our agenda.  They have offered to have Ronn as the guest star for the annual, “White Truffle Fair” in November, so we may be back then.

DevRonn

Can’t believe we have only a couple more days left of our trip before heading home. Tomorrow we head back to Rome to visit the castle of Laura and Lavinia Biagiotti. I always look forward to the wonderful talks I have with Laura. I can listen to her all day talk about history, art and her rare finds at flea markets, which she is taking us to on Sunday before we attend a wedding. So our trip is nice and relaxing now and the memories are truly special because everyone makes us feel so at home. It’s funny because every time we come to visit, I have to bring more spices to give to friends that are addicted to it like we are, especially Laura’s cooks. I’m looking forward to perhaps doing a Ronn’s Garage segment from the castle with Lavinia!

It feels like a dream being here on the most beautiful Island of Capri. I didn’t even know much about this area except that most of the elite come here to vacation and it’s one of the most unique places to visit. So being here feels surreal right now because we are still a bit tired from the trek here. No one is as tired as Ronn. He is like the energizer bunny who can keep going till his battery needs charging again, which is now. He always handles everything and everyone so gracefully and professionally and it’s sometimes hard for me to keep up with his pace. Between interviews, fans wanting photos, shootings and dinners, he hardly ever stops when visiting Italy. So it’s a rarity to just relax and enjoy. I’m watching my friend Lori embrace the whole experience with child-like eyes and wonder.  It’s a beautiful present for me to share this with someone like her. Ronn is so loved here and it was great to see him reunite with Katherine Kelly Lang. She’s always so sweet and fun to be around. They started the commercial shoot today very early, so it was bit of day for them both. So much so, that we are staying in and not going to dinner tonight. Just want to chill in our room and relax so that he’s fresh for tomorrow.  The Biagiotti fashion show yesterday was truly amazing and we loved the whole collection! Bright vintage 60’s colors and fun flowing prints made it so special and right up my alley. We went behind the scenes and watched Laura choose some of the models the day before the fashion show and it was an education to watch how much preparation goes into doing a collection for 15 minutes on the runway. Now Laura and Lavinia will start working for the next few months to prepare for the fall fashion show in March. As you know, Ronn and KKL did an appearance in Naples the night before so poor Ronn got no sleep and manage to fly back to Milan for the Biagiotti fashion show before Lori and I joined him and flew right back to Naples.  Getting to Capri, we had to take this hydrofoil boat for 45 minutes and I felt a bit nauseous.  Needless to say, after dinner with the clients for the commercial shoot, we were all dead tired. Then Ronn had to start today with only 3 hours of sleep. He and KKL are re-enacting a scene from Jackie O and Aristotle Onassis’ honeymoon here in Capri. They were in a million dollar wooden boat on some rough waters today filming.  Ronn is playing a dashing boatman that catches Kelly’s eye during chance meetings and there is someone else playing Aristotle. So it’s a very cute and interesting campaign that I am excited to see. Tomorrow is our 3 year wedding anniversary, so it’s extra special that we are just here in the same spot that so many interesting people have vacationed and enjoyed for centuries, including ancient Romans. I feel blessed to have had a second wedding a few months ago in gorgeous Puglia and now to experience our original anniversary in  Capri is unique and special. And we are so grateful to be here to celebrate our special day and I’m so proud of my husband and embracing every moment of our short time here.

Experiencing Bora Bora was in a nut shell magical. The water is very clear aqua blue that is  absolutely gorgeous and calm. Our every need was taken care of at the St. Regis, which seems to be the honeymoon haven for many couples. I can clearly see why. Upon arrival you are greeted with a flowered lei and taken by a boat that resembles a yacht to the resort where you are then greeted with a drink and a cool towel to feel refreshed. Our over the water bungalow was pretty awesome and a bottle of champagne was waiting for us. We had a candle lit dinner on a sugar white sandy beach and a gorgeous buffet breakfast with everything you can imagine every morning overlooking a pristine private beach. Each day was like heaven waking up to the still water surrounding our spacious bungalow hut. We rode bikes that were all over the resort around and had a couples massage side by side at the spa. We snorkeled and went on an aqua safari, which was quite interesting. You put these space like square helmets on in which you can breath and go down about 10 feet to see all kinds of fish and stingrays. I quite enjoyed that and we took a lot of underwater video and pics. Every evening our bed was turned down and treats of cookies and rose petals that spelled out LOVE was placed on our bed. Each evening we dined at a different restaurant with a different mood. The food on the Island is primarily Asian and French or a combo of both. So one night we had sushi, the next night French and one night we went to a very casual place called, “Bloody Mary’s” which is quite popular for seafood. Mama who owns “Bloody Mary’s” was a big fan of Ronn’s and everyone wanted photos. Seems all of Tahiti loves B&B and Ronn and pretty much everyone we went was the same scenario. I can honestly say Bora Bora is the perfect honeymoon location and we highly recommend it. Hopefully we will get to return for an anniversary. Apparently, they give you a seashell necklace that you are suppose to throw off the boat when you leave that says to the Island you will for sure return again.

Last night Ronn and I attended a movie screening “Smitty” which starred Peter Fonda, Mira Sorvino and Louis Gossett Jr. It was a heartwarming story about a troubled boy and his dog. This event was to benefit the Ventura Animal Shelter and www.shelterhopepetshop.com. My pals Kira Reed Lorsch and Kim Sill were involved in putting the event together and DevRonn donated spices for the gift bags. It was fun to hang out with Quiet Riot’s drummer, Frankie Banali and his fiancee’ Regina Russell. I was hoping to see Peter Fonda since he directed me in a play many years ago that I did with Vanessa Marcil and Dwight Yoakum. If you haven’t seen “Smitty” it’s a terrific movie that you will for sure enjoy. Today we are packing and getting ready for our belated honeymoon to Bora Bora. It’s been over 2 years since we have been married and we haven’t had time for a honeymoon! In fact, I’ve been with Ronn 8 years and we have never been on a vacation where it wasn’t work related or kid related, so this will be a real treat for us!  We are so looking forward to a quiet time to reflect and enjoy our loving relationship. Ronn is pressed for time right now with upcoming PLAYER press and concerts that are being formulated, as well as, an upcoming remote shoot in Italy for B&B. He is also trying to get the first show for “Ronn’s Garage” on Lorenzo Lamas done so that he can officially launch “Ronn’s Garage” which I’m sure you guys will love. So we take off tomorrow for Tahiti and will take lots of pics and video to blog when we return.

Ronn has a month off of B&B to rest and relax this summer and that starts now. We decided to drive near Yosemite to hang out with my pal Alana Curry and fellow Playmates LuAnn Lee and Jacqueline Sheen and their boyfriends to have fun swimming, jet skiing, boating and water skiing on a beautiful lake. It is just what Ronn loves to do to unwind himself into vacation mode. It’s also great for me because the cabin has Internet and enables me to keep up with everyone and it has a big beautiful kitchen for me to cook in so I feel right at home! I’ve enjoyed introducing everyone to “Devin’s Kickass Seasoning” with dishes like, Salmon and caper Buccatini, Lental soup and Steak Devin with Roasted potatoes. Ronn and I have been sleeping in every morning and enjoying every second of this amazing place. We plan to stop off and check out Yosemite before heading to our own cabin and picking up the kids next week. We will then head to Hawaii with them for a family vacation before Ronn heads back to work in mid August. It always seems like the summer just flies by with the kids, their friends, our friends and traveling. So we are just trying to enjoy every minute of it. I plan to finally finish my next book, “True Age, Timeless Beauty” as well as, make up some new recipes of course. We are also planning to renovate our cabin by next year so that we can have friends come and hang out with us there. Ronn just loves editing all the video he shoots and enjoys the peace and quite there. So we hope to spend more time at our cabin once it’s remodeled. Hope you are all enjoying the summer as much as we are!

Ronn and I have been having a blast and have found Vegas to be an adult playground. The last time we were here was about six years ago, so being back for my birthday and the Daytime Emmys made it quite special this trip. Our stay at the beautiful Venetian hotel was amazing and we were in awe of both Cirque Du Soleil shows, LOVE and ELVIS!! Highly recommend seeing both. Today we head over to the Hilton to celebrate the first live broadcast of the Daytime Emmys on CBS tonight, will blog later about that. Here are a few pics of our trip so far.

This is from our recent trip to the cutest little town called Bulgheri in Tuscany, Italy. We stayed in Bulgheri after I finished Ballando con le Stelle (Dancing with the Stars) and went to spend some time visiting my Italian dance partner, Sara Di Vaira, and her wonderful family. Sara grew up in this special scenic town. In this clip, we’re meeting Illia. She’s 92 years young. She’s the oldest person in Bulgheri and, as you can see, probably the most spry as well.[wpvideo 9dnenMkm]

It has been a most relaxing enjoyable vacation for all of us and a very memorable one for us as a family. We have been made to feel at home with the Biagiotti and the Di Vaira families and it was a very emotional goodbye to all for now. The girls have experienced Italy in a very unique way, both the traditional Roman way and the traditional Tuscan way of life. We want to thank everyone who help us feel so at home in both Bolgheri and Roma. The beautiful dinners, private tours and loving hospitality will endure in our memory for a lifetime. We have made so many wonderful friends along the way, learned so much about wine, food and art and taken away gorgeous memories of the countryside and their culture. So we say arrivederci for now, but we know we will be back to our second home very soon. I will continue to study Italian so that I am speaking more fluently next time. Ronn is loved more than ever in Italy and loves Italy more than ever, so this love affair will continue I’m sure for years to come. It will feel good now to be back home with the animals and our friends who we have missed so much from all our traveling during the past few months.

Our vacation so far has been very relaxing and the weather has been fabulous! Just what the doctor ordered for Ronn, weather that is in primavera and not too hot or cold. A trip to the Spanish Steps, The Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain was the start of our first day. Walking around Rome was grand and it was funny for the girls to see how many teenagers wanted photos and autographs with their daddy. . Our dear friends Laura and Lavinia Biagiotti hosted us in their apartment near the spanish steps, which was in the center of everything. Our wonderful guide Isabella toured us around the city as we walked all day long. We had the most fabulous homemade pasta, steamed artichokes and of course vino rosso. Our second day has been another private tour of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, compliments of our friend Loreto. Our neighbors Steve and Sue and their kids were in Rome for a short while during a cruise and joined us on the tour and then we had a fabulous lunch. The girls then opted to walk around some more with Ronn, while I came back to blog and rest up for dinner. We decided to take the girls today to the Villa Borghese and had a private tour of Caravaggio’s amazing work and the President’s Palace before having dinner with Actress Nancy Brilli and her husband Roy. Plans changed and we decided to rest in the castle of Laura Biagiotti tomorrow before heading by train to Florence to see the “David.” There are so many people that we have decided to go to Venice after Easter. We will complete our Roman Holiday with one last day in Roma before heading home next week.

Our first family vacation to Italy is off to a pleasant start now that we are relaxing in the British Airways lounge. Although we weren’t sure if it was going to happen at all due to the British Airways strike that is taking place this weekend. I had calls from the airline that our flight was canceled from London to Rome and spent an hour on the phone booking an alternative flight. Then we didn’t receive Calee’s passport even though we renewed it well over a month ago. After spending more time on the phone with the passport agency and having more calls from British Airways saying that our new flight may now be interrupted, our nerves were on edge. I spent the past couple months planning the most special trip for us and everyone who knows me, knows I hate last minute changes. Calee’s passport finally arrived by federal express a half hour before we left for the airport and the traffic to the airport was massive, but as soon as we arrived at the British Airways check in, things began to take a turn for the better. We checked in almost effortlessly and went through security without much of a line, which is a first for me! Then we made our way to the lounge and ate something, so now the girls and Ronn are happy to be on their computers relaxing before our flight.  We are now looking forward to spending some quality time together is Rome, Venice, Florence and the Tuscan countryside over the next couple of weeks. It’s a perfect ending to Ronn’s Italian experience over the past few months and Italy really has become our second home. Spending Easter there with friends will truly be special and we plan to take lots of pics and video along the way. I will update you guys periodically on how it’s going and we hope to finally bring back Ronn’s huge trophy!

We just returned home from vacationing in the mountains with the kids. It was a lot of fun this year. Creason, Ronn and Calee went water skiing. It was a little too cold for me but I will try it next year. It hailed quarter size balls one day, which was rather cool. I spent alot of time writing and editing video footage, reading and relaxing. IMG_0106 We go every year to the high sierra mountains with the kids. The tiny cabin that has been in Ronn’s family for 100 years is very special to him and the girls, so we are finally getting the ball rolling to fix the place up.IMG_0108 Apparently, the forest service has a lot of required permits for renovating something that old because it is nestled in the heart of the forest, so the process will be long and tedious one. Nevertheless, we are expanding it and turning it into our dream cabin for future vacations with friends and family. I’m sorry I seem to be having tech problems with my site. I have alerted my webmaster and it is fixed now. I so apologize to those of you who were trying to order autographed copies of my book and thanks to those of you who alerted me to the problem. But, I had no Internet at the cabin except for limited cell usage. Technology is great when it works, but it’s not always perfect huh? Anyway, it’s good to be home in my own bed, yes I am sooo spoiled, hahaha. I felt like I was roughing it for two weeks in the woods! Here is the link to order my book on Barnes and Noble or you can go to my website to order a limited autographed copy there.

AmsterdamThe past couple of days were pretty rough, both Ronn and I were only averaging about 6 hours of sleep with the aid of a sleeping pill to get back into our time zone. I spent most of the day catching up on emails, phone calls, bills and mail urrrghhh! So I became a little cranky by the end of the day. I happy to say I feel more like myself today and will do some more catching up, but I wanted to post some of the photos from our trip here and on our sitesEze. So check them outLoire Valley. Ronn shot so many amazing shots, especially in Sanremo.Sanremo My birthday is on Thursday and I just want a quiet dinner this year, no big party as I don’t have the energy for it. Tomorrow Ronn and the kids are cooking me dinner and that’s the best birthday present spending it with them.

DevRonnFinally we are back online in the London airport heading home today. It was hard to distinguish the Internet in France since both Ronn and I don’t read French or speak it. We have decided we want to learn and have already started with a few basics. Our time last night in Paris was magical. We walked for hours taking in the Louve, corner cafes, shopping and a romantic dinner before saying goodbye to our now favorite city together. Everywhere we went, people recognized Ronn and asked for pics and autographs. Even the female taxi driver in little town of Onzain, which was near Lorie Valley asked for his autograph. The women at the counter where we exchanged dollars for Euros did also. Seems I can’t go anywhere with him without this happening. The security guys in the Louve asked for a photo with him. The chef at Loire Valley who prepared the best french meal we have ever experienced asked for an autograph for his mother! Will post pics from this dinner later, it was a work of art! The show is very well the most watched in the world, that’s for sure. At one point we had people from Italy, France, Morocco and Zanzabare asking for autographs and pics! We both have very much enjoyed this vacation and consider it one of our best. But, we are missing home now and can’t wait to see Nayo, Romeo and the girls. I’m glad you guys got to share some of our trip from our blogs here. Will post more pics and we are working on our video from the whole trip on our plane ride back.

Dev & RonnAfter having some amazing tastings in the chateaus of LaGrange, Margaux and Lynch Bages in the Medoc region of Bordeaux and then experiencing some chateaus of the St. Emilion region, home of Petrus. Ronn was fascinated with the wine education he had and found we both loved the older wines from the Medoc, but still appreciated the Merlot blends of St. Emilion just as much. We bought a few bottles to keep for the future, as well as a few to drink now. 2005 was a great year for all of Bordeaux and we fell in love with LaGrange and savored a bottle in our room while catching up on emails in our lovely room we had in this 18th century chateau. So I can safely say, Ronn is very relaxed now and loving France. We both want to learn French and can’t wait to go to Loire Valley, which is so beautiful today. We will stay in another 18th century chateau and visit one more vineyard today there before returning on Friday for our final day in Paris. Then it’s back home on Saturday. So far this has been an amazing trip. We have shot lots of video and we are organizing the clips together for an edited DVD to share soon. Will try to take more pics to post later.

IMG_7726Dev laughs at Ronn's jokeAfter a grueling week of press and gala functions, Ronn was ready for a much needed vacation. The last press interview was in Amsterdam. We had a wonderful time in Amsterdam and visited with a long time friend of Ronn’s, Amanda. Amanda and some of her friends took us to dinner and we got to experience herring, which is very popular. A stop in the red light district was funny when Ronn would walk by windows of girls recognizing him. I checked out the coffee shops and we both admired the beauty of this amazing city. Ronn and I both would love to see Player kick off a European tour in Amsterdam. Paris has always been one of my favorite cities. It had a been a while since I’d been there, over 10 years to be exact, so I figured what better place to visit with Ronn, especially since he informed me that he had only been there twice and didn’t really remember much about it.They say, you should only go to Paris with someone you love, so it was great to share walking the stairs of the Eiffel tower and shopping on the Champs’ Elysee’. We both love red wines and since I’d been to Bordeaux before and found the train ride from Paris to Bordeaux to be quite pleasant; I suggested this as a good alternative the tremendous amount of driving Ronn does daily. He was so relaxed, he slept the entire three hour train ride! We are staying in a private 1780 Chateau that is ironically owned by a Dutch family. It is so relaxing, beautiful and peaceful and we were greeted with a wonderful bottle of wine and cheese to kick start our day tomorrow of wine tastings in some of the best regions.
