Tomorrow Ronn and I will do a segment for “Inside Edition” on our friend Davy Jones. We met Davy and his adorable wife Jessica when we all appeared on “The Newlywed Game” a couple of  years ago. Ronn and I were only married 4 days when we did that show and Jessica and Davy had been married a few months. I couldn’t believe we were on “The Newlywed Game” with such a teen idol like Davy Jones. Hell I remember having a crush on him like millions of other girls when I watched “The Monkees” everyday after school. I remember Marcia Brady wishing she could have him sing at her prom on “The Brady Bunch.” Davy Jones was such a part of the innocence that represented our youth. Even though Davy Jones was English, he represented a huge part of American culture and what America’s first real television teen idol was and always will be, fresh, exciting and innocent. When we heard of Davy’s death, we lost a piece of our innocence and it broke our hearts because he was just too young to leave us. I remember Davy being every bit of what I thought he should be; sweet, funny, lovable and a joy to be around. Ronn and I spent the whole day laughing, drinking champagne and feeling like we were friends forever that day on “The Newlywed Game” set; and all I can think about now is what a wonderful spirit he was, and how much we will all miss him. Our hearts go out to his lovely wife Jessica. They were such a cute a couple. Ronn and I feel honored to have known him and his memory will be forever in our hearts. It’s weird that I was just watching back to back reruns of “The Monkees”a few days ago and thinking of Davy. To learn of his passing was so shocking and makes you stop and appreciate these precious moments in life.  “The Monkees” song, “I’m a believer” will forever ring in my mind of a time when life was fresh and innocent and Davy Jones will always be remembered in our hearts as part of that. “Inside Edition” will air March 2, 2012 at 3:30pm PST on Channel 9.
