The past two weeks provided Ronn and I with an appreciated break from the undying heat in southern California. We enjoyed experiencing a real fall that enabled us to wear a jacket instead of wanting to peel off every stitch of clothing for a change. It was lovely to see all the leaves turning shades of red, orange and yellow throughout the beautiful countryside of Belgium. And Ronn’s performance with DeRomeos was a big hit with fans. We were treated to some amazing cuisine, fine beer and of course Belgian chocolate!
After the concert, we met up with our loyal DevRonn Fanclub members and finally put faces to the names of some wonderful fans we invited to join us backstage. We had so much fun thanks to our new fanclub president, Angelique DeVries! Business meetings on future projects followed, and then we headed to Amsterdam to visit some friends and got “Lost In Amsterdam” with Anthony Geary who now lives there. Since he has retired the role of Luke Spencer from General Hospital, it was time to have some fun! Tony showed us around the university and opera house of Amsterdam as we made our way to Rembrandt’s Square.
He then took us to the coolest place called, “Lost In Amsterdam” where we could take our shoes off and have a drink or smoke a bud, while watching people walk or ride their bikes along the pristine cobbled stone streets. It was easy to spend hours losing track of time in this place. I had done a great deal of walking around the city with Ronn while he took photos of the beautiful canals and bridges. It was easy to see why so many artists have been greatly inspired by this unique city. The architecture alone is amazing! Even though I had been to Amsterdam twice before this trip, I had not really seen its beauty and left with a new appreciation for all it has to offer after this adventure.
It was the first time Ronn had the ability to enjoy exploring a place he had been to before, but never really got to see due to his hectic schedule on B&B. I found the food, culture and people to be excellent. Although we were only there for a few days, its apparent that it’s one of the happiest places on earth. Tony said, “The Dutch doesn’t care what you do, as long as you are polite about it.” Maybe that’s why so many people are attracted to Amsterdam? We took many of you with us thanks to Periscope and the feedback that I heard was very cool. Thanks to technology, we were able to share a bit of our experience with you guys and also met up with more fanclub members! We even made a few new friends along the way and took home memories that will last a lifetime!
I think we will return again and again to get “Lost In Amsterdam,” as we get inspired by its timeless beauty and unique vibe.
