Ronn and I attend the 3rd annual Celebrity Gun Shoot in Ojai this past weekend. Our friends at Associated Television put on a first class event as always. It was held at the beautiful Ojai Valley Inn and Spa and we were treated to an amazing awards dinner, in which Ronn First Place in the Handguns. I feel like I’ve improved very much since our first year attending. I managed to get several shots in the Sporting Clays and Trap competitions. “Housewives of Orange County” star Peggy and Micah Tanous were on our team again, along with “Falling Skies” newcomer Peter Shinkoda who was a very good marksman just like his TV character. We hung with old team mates Frank Stallone and Robert Carradine and I was happy to see Kira and Bob Lorsch attend for the first time.  Laura McKenzie who is always terrific and her husband David, daughter Elizabeth and their team at Associated Television makes us feel at home and part of their wonderful family unit with all their events and we cherish them dearly. This event benefited the families of the our military and volunteers of the NRA were on hand to make sure we were all safe. I plan to get some practice in before next year!

This past weekend spent in West Palm Beach was sheer heaven. We were invited to attend the 24th annual “Boys and Girls Club” charity event by our host Jim Glidewell, who was introduced to us by our dear friends Wally and Lori Crowder. Jim flew us in his private plane along with a few other couples and we stayed on his yacht, “Ohana” as we attended the various events all weekend long. We had a lovely cocktail party Thursday  evening and got to tour the other yachts in the harbor and was treated to a spectacular finale of fireworks. Now being on board a yacht is really quite an experience, since the crew pretty much caters to your every possible need 24/7. This beautiful 157′ floating palace has everything that an amazing first class hotel could have!  The boys spent a lot of time having cocktails and smoking cigars, while the girls hung out drinking tea and chatting.  Since Friday was 11/11/11 and Veterans Day, Ronn and I took a moment to meditate on our blessings and our Veterans and enjoyed the rest of the day getting to know our new friends. We then dressed up for a roaring 20s party that evening in held in the amazing Flagler Museum.

The first thing we saw when we walked in was this woman dressed in a red dress with this extremely long red train that went down the stairs.

Our last day was spent on the dock where a clambake of lobster, clams, steak and fried oyster po-boys were served. Later that evening we had our grand finale to this amazing weekend at Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Largo for a black tie silent auction dinner with the “Doobie Brothers” as our entertainment. Needless to say, it all felt like a dream. Perfect weather, food, company and entertainment. I don’t think we will ever forget what we did the weekend of 11/11/11 and will always be in gratitude for our Vets and this glorious weekend spent in West Palm Beach. Thank your Wally, Lori, Jim and Parvina for inviting us along. Truly an amazing memory for us.

Ronn and I had a blast at the “Senior Prom Revisited” in Palm Springs. PLAYER was a an honored guest and performed a few songs.

All the band members brought their wives along for this charity event and had a blast. Peter even had a good time with Eden Ayers and Charlie Chaplin.

Peter Beckett

My pal Alana Curry and her boyfriend came along and had a blast.

Later we went to the home of Artist Christina De Musee’ who is a very colorful character.

Palm Springs seems to love PLAYER and they will be performing on a regular basis starting in Jan 2011 on Saturday nights.

They are also putting together a tour with America and Little River Band and will be doing the Hollywood Christmas Parade that will air on CBS.

Right now we are working on new cool PLAYER merchandise and will have more news about appearances, maybe in your area, soon!

The band really rocked their last night in Palm Springs and have been asked to perform at a  prestigious country club’s anniversary party in March.  More appearances are sure to be announced  later as they are confirmed.

We would like to graciously thank Bette King productions for taking such great care of us and all the fans who came out to support PLAYER!

Last weekend was a blast of fun for Ronn and I when we participated in a celebrity gun shooting tournament that benefited our troops and Veterans. The event took place in Ojai and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We were in good company with some old friends like Erik Estrada, Tristan Rogers and some of the cast members from “The Young and The Restless.” There were some real sharp shooters in the Sporting Clays competition, pistol and trap shoots. Who knew that “The Beaver” Jerry Mathers would be taking home the highest honors? Robert Carradine was on our team and Ronn did some pretty impressive shooting to say the least. I shot very well in the pistol competition, but we all need to practice a little harder for next year to beat the “Beaver!” The NRA put on this event along with “Associated Television” who is also doing the Daytime Emmys for CBS this year in Las Vegas! These guys did last year’s Emmys and do a first class event always. Everything was fabulous and Ronn and I can’t wait until the next one. We really had a blast and I want to practice my shooting for next year. Who knows, maybe I can give the Beav a little competition?

Our vacation so far has been very relaxing and the weather has been fabulous! Just what the doctor ordered for Ronn, weather that is in primavera and not too hot or cold. A trip to the Spanish Steps, The Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain was the start of our first day. Walking around Rome was grand and it was funny for the girls to see how many teenagers wanted photos and autographs with their daddy. . Our dear friends Laura and Lavinia Biagiotti hosted us in their apartment near the spanish steps, which was in the center of everything. Our wonderful guide Isabella toured us around the city as we walked all day long. We had the most fabulous homemade pasta, steamed artichokes and of course vino rosso. Our second day has been another private tour of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, compliments of our friend Loreto. Our neighbors Steve and Sue and their kids were in Rome for a short while during a cruise and joined us on the tour and then we had a fabulous lunch. The girls then opted to walk around some more with Ronn, while I came back to blog and rest up for dinner. We decided to take the girls today to the Villa Borghese and had a private tour of Caravaggio’s amazing work and the President’s Palace before having dinner with Actress Nancy Brilli and her husband Roy. Plans changed and we decided to rest in the castle of Laura Biagiotti tomorrow before heading by train to Florence to see the “David.” There are so many people that we have decided to go to Venice after Easter. We will complete our Roman Holiday with one last day in Roma before heading home next week.

Saturday night was a emotional night for Peter and Ronn to join their original bandmate JC Crowley to play onstage with them. It was the first time in over 25 years. Due to the fact that JC had throat cancer and had a 20% chance of survival back in 1994, he’s a walking miracle. His wife had never seen him sing, “Baby Come Back” with the band, so this was indeed a very emotional evening for all of them to reunite. This was a tribute to legendary producer, Dennis Lambert, so many artists that Dennis worked with over the past 40 years came out to sing one or two of their hits. Some of those artists that shared the stage with PLAYER included, “The Commodores, Natalie Cole and Connie Stevens. We all celebrated after the show for a private party which included fans who flew in from Italy just to see Ronn! Our very own webmistress, Patti Myers was there to make sure the event was covered for the website. We both think this is just the start of something bigger for PLAYER and hope that JC and Peter will start writing together again soon.

Ronn and I just got home from taping the “Newlywed Game” and we were in the lead the whole show. Davy Jones and his wife Jessica were competing and were just hilarious. “Survivor” reality star Jon Dalton and his “America’s Top Model” wife Michelle Deighton tied us in the end and ultimately won. Carnie Wilson said it was the funniest show ever and I was so sure we were going to win. We almost felt cheated because we got the most matches, but the final points could be anybody’s game. It was a lot of fun and it’s too bad we didn’t win for our charity, “Desi Geestman foundation.” The show will air on the Game Show Network in November. I will keep you posted on the exact date when I know it. We tried to be a bit outrageous to compete with the craziness of Jon and Michelle. Davy Jones and his wife Jessica were also outrageously funny. Since Jon and Michelle tied us in the end, the couple who guessed their points before the show started and whoever guessed closest would win the event of a tie. They guessed closer than we did and won! We felt so bad, but hey we played the game well and that’s life, can’t win em all.

newlywedgamelogo Ronn and I have been asked to be on the “Newlywed Game” with Carnie Wilson for the Game Show Network and it tapes three days after our wedding! I didn’t even know there was a new version of the Newlywed Game on the air. This show is celebrity couples playing for their favorite charity to win $10,000. We chose The Desi Geestman Foundation which helps families of children with cancer. At first Ronn was apprehensive about doing the show, but changed his mind to help this charity. I think it’s quite funny and am looking forward to it cause I think we will win because we know each other so well, hahaha. The wedding is a week away and I’m trying to stay calm and make sure everything is done beforehand so that I can enjoy the day. So I have all my beauty appointments scheduled to pamper myself a little bit everyday. I’m still worried about Cindy being sick, she’s been sick for a while now and I sure hope she gets better soon. Tina recovered and I’m sure we will have a blast this weekend with the bacholerette party. I scheduled a massage for Sunday because I know I will need it!
